Altar Rosary Society

Altar Rosary SocietyOur Lady of the Rosary

The mission of the Society is to praise and honor the Blessed Virgin Mother and to secure her patronage by the recitation of the rosary.

The obligation each week is to recite and meditate on the 20 mysteries of the Rosary, in public or privately.  In our parish society, we ask for one extra Hail Mary a day for our members.  We concern ourselves with anything connected with the altar.

Our activities include:

  • 15 masses offered each year for the living and deceased members and priests
  • A Vigil candle burns perpetually on the Holy Family altar for member's intentions
  • Special prayers and family assistance at funerals
  • Gifts to children, shut-ins and Altar Servers at Christmas
  • Gifts to First Holy Communion Class, Confirmation Class and Graduates
  • Complementary Parish Breakfasts following Mass
  • Special Intention Prayers for Pro-Life Causes
  • Parish Rosaries recited before Masses
  • May Crowning
  • Fundraisers such as Brunch and Spaghetti Dinner

On the First Friday of each month a Mass is held at St.Hugh Church at 9:00 AM for All Living and Deceased Altar Rosary Members. (Please check for bulletin for any changes.)

Meetings are tentatively the first Friday of each month following the 9:00 am Mass at St. Hugh in the Social Hall.

We welcome any and all ladies to join us.
